STRENGTH FROM THE WORD

“Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God; He will come and save you.” —Isaiah 35:4

Dear Christian…
Our God is infinite and almighty, “and His kingdom rules over all” (Psalm 103:19). Knowing this truth gives the believer unspeakable comfort, for “The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms” (Deuteronomy 33:27). The question the Lord asked Sarah was this, “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” (Genesis 18:14). Job said of the Lord, “I know that You can do everything, and that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You” (Job 42:2).

God’s knowledge is perfect, His being and actions are righteous, holy, and altogether just, and He is the fountain of all good. “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning” (James 1:17). This is the God of Scripture, the God who has saved from eternal damnation all who trust in Jesus, and this is the God who we worship, adore and serve. Therefore, let us be like the psalmist and “Praise Him for His mighty acts; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness!” (Psalm 150:2).

In Christ,
