SENT INTO THE WORLD TO REDEEM

IN GALATIANS 4:4-5, the Apostle Paul declares that “God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.” Jesus Christ was born into this world for the purpose of redeeming all those given to Him by the Father (John 6:37) in order that they might receive the adoption and be called the children of the living God (1 John 3:1). That’s why we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. We celebrate the truth that our loving Father sent His only begotten Son into the world as the Redeemer of His people. As we read in Matthew 1:21, “And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.”

IF GOD would not have sent His Son to redeem sinners, then every one of us would have died in our sins and be cast into everlasting Hell to suffer the just judgment of God against our sins (Matthew 25:41). And if God would have left us all in our sins to suffer His just wrath, He would have been just to do so. But the truth declared in our text is that “God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.”

PRAISE GOD that Jesus was born to redeem all those that the Father had given unto Him from all their sins and misery. The question is clear, are you trusting in Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, for the remission of your sins? Are you resting fully and completely in Jesus as your righteous standing before God, the righteous Judge? Scripture tells us that “there’s no other name given under heaven among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). Jesus alone is the only Savior of sinners. Look to Him now and live, for today is the day of salvation.
