ALL THINGS FOR GOOD

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
~Romans 8:28

HERE IS the promise of Scripture to those who love God: every event, every moment, every circumstance, good and evil, pleasant and difficult, joyful and burdensome, is sent by God to bring about His glory and every believer’s good. Notice the Apostle Paul wrote that ALL things work together, not only good things but evil things, hard things, things that reduce us to tears and break us down. All these things work together for the believer’s good.

GOD’S PROMISE is that everything that comes into our life as a believer will be worked by God to accomplish His glory and our good, both in this life and that which is to come. Do you love God? Do you trust Him amid your struggles? Our God knows what He is doing. He’s worthy of our trust. Even when everything around us looks hopeless, we still have hope in God! Psalm 42:5, “Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance.” Psalm 39:7, “And now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in You.” And once again, Psalm 71:5, “For You are my hope, O Lord GOD; You are my trust from my youth.”

ALL CREATED things are instruments in God’s hand to mold, shape, prepare, and fit us as vessels for His praise and glory. All things are being sent by God into our lives as believers not to destroy us, but in order that we might shine brilliantly in the knowledge of Him as our God and Savior. You have God’s holy Word on it, and it’s impossible for God to lie (Titus 1:2; Heb. 6:18). Therefore, boldly live the Christian life, faithfully serve God, and never say when evil comes upon you that God doesn’t love you or care about you. Never say as Jacob did, “all these things are against me!” Remember the promise of Scripture, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
