A CHRISTIAN’S SUNDAY MORNING PRAYER

My Father and My God!

YOU are awesome in holiness, wondrous in truth, glorious in goodness, infinite in understanding, and abundant in mercy!
As it is written, “For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You” (Psalm 86:5).
And again, “Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite” (Psalm 147:5).
YOUR Grace is amazing, Your Love is ineffable, Your Mercy reaches to the heavens, and You are sovereign in redemption.
YOU alone, O Lord, can and do save sinners from sin, death, and Hell.
YOU alone can and do regenerate the soul and create faith within the heart and impart everlasting life because You, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are God! Thank You for redemption! Thank You for granting all Your elect mercy and grace!
YOU alone are awesome! I am so utterly undeserving of the least of Your benefits.

FATHER, I love You! I know my love for You is not what it ought to be, but I do love You because You first loved me.
YOU shed Your love abroad in my heart by the Holy Spirit, and I now have love for You: Father, Son, Holy Spirit!
STRENGTHEN and increase my love for You and Your people, the sheep of Your pasture, the people of Your hand!
O FATHER, bless me and all Your sheep with courage and confidence, spiritual strength, and holy zeal for Your truth.

BLESS me and all Your sheep with faithfulness to Your Word.
GRANT us greater discernment, wisdom, and desire to worship You! Revive us again, O LORD!
STIR UP Your people to love and good works so that You might be honored and praised.
CAUSE US, as a mighty army, to proclaim salvation in Jesus alone throughout all the world!
KEEP US from the fear of men!

As it is written, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Tim. 1:7).
FILL US with Your Word and Spirit that we might make a firm stand against the world, the flesh, and the devil.

LORD JESUS, as You know, it’s hard to live in this fallen, sin-cursed world. “For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin” (Heb. 4:15).

TEMPTATION confronts us at every turn, and we need Your strength to resist denying Your Word.

I FIND it more and more difficult every day. Strengthen me and all Your people, the sheep of Your hand.
FORGIVE ME, Lord Jesus, for my sins of thought, word, and deed. Cause me to walk in Your Word! Fill me with Your Spirit!
BLESS ME and all Your people to worship You this morning. Give us ears to hear and hearts to believe and resolve to submit Your Word.

BLESS US as we anticipate gathering as a congregation to exalt Your holy name as You alone are worthy of all honor and praise!
STRENGTHEN ALL preachers to preach for the glory and praise of Your Holy Name!
GIVE US wisdom, zeal, and understanding so that we might glorify You as we unfold the text of Scripture.
“For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your slaves for Jesus’ sake” (2 Cor. 4:5).
AS JOHN the Baptizer proclaimed, “He must increase, but I must decrease” (John 3:30).
LORD JESUS, increase Your presence and power in my life. Cause me to fade more and more and more into the background.
CAUSE YOURSELF to be seen and heard as I preach the Word. Cause me to be unseen and unheard!

FOR You alone have the preeminence!

THANK YOU for Your love for me!
THANK YOU for rescuing me and all Your people, blessing us, and preserving us for Your eternal kingdom!
HOLY SPIRIT, use me up for the cause of Jesus Christ. Cause me to decrease so that Christ might increase!
EXALT YOUR name, Lord Jesus, through the ministry of the Church!
BRING REFORMATION and then revival upon Your people, and cause a holy zeal for Your glory to spread like wildfire.
BUILD UP Your Church! Strengthen Your flock! Increase Your Church!
BRING INTO the fold those appointed unto eternal life for Your glory, praise, and worship!
As it is written, “Now when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord. And as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed” (Acts 13:48).

THANK YOU, Father, for hearing my prayer!
MAY JESUS be exalted!

In His name I pray.
AMEN!
